Anne Cathrine Dietrichson was born in Skogn in 1850. Her father was the district physician Peter Wilhelm Krejdahl Dietrichson, and her mother was Canuta Pauline Ditlevine Due from Trondheim. Among her siblings were Oluf (born 1856), who later became a major general and polar explorer, and Kristian Adolph Gustav Emil (born 1858), who became the father of Leif Dietrichson. Her sister Wencke Elisabeth married the physician Marius Frimann Dahl Bøckman, who was her cousin, in 1877.

Cathrine was a family historian and author. According to Wikipedia she was called «Aunt Trine» in the family. In 1923 she published, together with David Dietrichson, a new and expanded family register through the Cammermeyer bookshop. It has 142 pages and builds on the register David had published in 1882. In 1929 she was one of the authors of «Stamtavle over den norske Bøckmanslekt 1629–1929», which is listed in the catalogue of the National Library. That may be connected to her sister marrying into that family.

According to Wikipedia she died on 20 October 1938 and in 1924 established «Aunt Trine’s Endowment for the Dietrichson family». The endowment is not confirmed in other sources. A supplement to the register is listed under her name with the year 1949, eleven years after she is said to have died. Why is unclear. We have not found any details about where she lived as an adult.
